NBA 2K27 Conversion
Overview
Every existing player is converted to the 2K27 system once. You choose how:
Option A — Automatic
Your player is converted for you and stays as close as possible to what he is now. One click.
Option B — Rebuild
You design a new 2K27 build for your player and place your resources yourself.
Both options are equally strong — Option B just lets you rearrange things.
How it works
Your Body
- Your height stays the same.
- Your weight is moved into the 2K27 range for your height if needed.
- Your wingspan becomes a real length (your height up to +6 inches), based on your old wingspan.
Your body decides your body ceilings — the highest each attribute can go in 2K27.
Option A — Automatic
Attributes
- Your caps are fitted to 2K27: a 99-overall build within your body ceilings.
- Your old build can't always be recreated 1:1. The conversion gives priority to your most important attributes and uses up to 25 cap breakers to bring their caps back toward what you had, as far as your body ceilings allow.
- If your old build needed more than that, you get XP as compensation to spend however you like. Cap breakers from milestones you already reached come on top.
- Your values stay where they fit. A value above its new cap is lowered, and the XP for those points comes back.
- Your conversion page shows your exact numbers at the top: cap breakers, XP and milestone cap breakers.
Badges
- All your badges stay with their levels: primary, secondary and additional ones.
- A few badges were renamed or split in 2K27 (see below). Your player gets the version that fits his attributes.
Everything else
Tendencies, hot zones, animations, contract, team and stats stay. See In Both Options for XP, calculated attributes and animations.
Option B — Rebuild
Your new build
- You build a new 99-overall player in the 2K27 builder. Your body is fixed (see above).
- Your new build starts as far along as your current player — e.g. if you are 80% of the way to your caps now, the new build starts at 80% of its caps.
- You get the same XP as with Option A, and the same cap breakers — as tokens you can place wherever you want.
- The rebuild is saved automatically. You can pause and continue later.
Badges
- Your badge points: exactly enough to pick your old primary and secondary badges again, plus any unspent points.
- A badge you pick again keeps its level (a Hall of Fame badge stays Hall of Fame).
- A new badge starts at Bronze.
- An old badge you don't pick again turns into badge tokens — one for each level it had (e.g. Hall of Fame → Bronze, Silver, Gold and Hall of Fame token), so you can rebuild those levels on other badges.
- Badges outside your primary and secondary lists stay as they are.
Animations
You can pick a new jumpshot in the rebuild. If your new build no longer meets the requirements of an animation you have, it is removed and you get a token back for it.
In Both Options
Calculated attributes
13 attributes (like Pass IQ, Hands or Help Defense IQ) are now calculated from your main attributes — see the building guide. If one comes out lower than before, you get the XP back for the points you lose.
XP
Your unspent XP stays, plus all refunds (lowered values and lowered calculated attributes).
Animations
- 2K27 groups dribble moves differently, so animations in the old dribble slots are removed. Tokens you spent on them come back.
- An animation that doesn't exist in 2K27 (for your size) is removed — you get 1 token of that type to pick a new one.
Top Milestones
Top Milestones now give a cap breaker. If you already claimed some, you get those cap breakers at the conversion.
Renamed badges
| Boxout Beast | → Boxout Boss (better Defensive Rebound) or Breaker (better Offensive Rebound) |
| Rebound Chaser | → Possession Closer (better Defensive Rebound) or Crasher (better Offensive Rebound) |
| Set Shot Specialist | → Set and Fire (better Three-Point) or Static Middy (better Mid-Range) |
| Shifty Shooter | → Arc Cadence (better Three-Point) or Smooth Operator (better Mid-Range) |
| Post-Up Poet | → Post Spin Catalyst (better Post Control) or Ghost Stepper (better Close Shot) |
| On-Ball Menace | → Seatbelt |
Which one should I pick?
- Option A if you like your player as he is. It's quick and keeps everything in place.
- Option B if you always wanted to change your build — different attribute focus, other badges, a new jumpshot.
